It’s the science and technology that drives our day to day lives. Man’s quest to know about things more and more enabled him to make great advancements as the time passed by.

Every good thing has got some disadvantages too. It’s not different in the case of the technology. He discovered many devices that are useful at most times but can be misused in other words.

Such a technology that was advanced than anything else but also misused than anything else is none other than Internet. A technology used by the US army during the world war known as ARPANET, later determines man’s everyday life schedule. A human being is linked towards it in one way or the other. There was a time when people stand in queue waiting for their call in order to get interviewed before various firms. Now the time has changed a lot. Every firm has got their own recruitment process through online and they hire the qualified employees.

But what could be the misusing of Internet refers to? To day its Internet is familiar to all. Even a 7 year old child knows how to browse through various sites and hoe to send/read an email. (To be frank I learnt it while I was 14). That’s the 21st century. People use the Internet in many means; chatting, browsing, streaming, gaming etc

These all meant for some specific purpose. But there are some people who are acting like creating some nuisance (that’s what I want to say). They may be doing those pranks as a time pass. I still remember the 1st day I learned to use the yahoo messenger. I join a room for India, just because of curiosity I read about the Indian room. It says it’s meant for making new friends in India. I like it and entered. The 1st thing that welcomed me was a personal message from a perverted guy asking whether I got any incest relationship. For the 1st time in my life I came to know about such a relationship. Then later I came to know that the chat rooms are misused badly. There are many porno cams opened up by various nick names, the cams meant to commute people used as a resource in perversion.

These people never ever think about the innocent users logged in at the other end. If you were a woman then it would be so pathetic for her in the chat room. That’s the reason why the girls are not into the chat rooms. These guys never leave them if they came to know that it’s a girl. They surely invite her fro a sex chat (hot chat they say) truly disgusting. At least they should consider it’s a woman like his mother and sister. The real comedy arises when the same thing ever happened to his own daughter or close ones.

There are many other ‘dirty games’ that are screen played still now via internet. Misusing a technology like this is much serious than any that ever occurred in any other. Even though the man’s inventions are kept developed daily the morale inside him kept shrink.

Significant figures (sig figs)

Significant figures (sig figs) help chemists maintain the integrity of their data. Calculations are only as good as the data collected. The data is only as good as the tool being used and the tool is only as good as the person using it. If your measuring device only measures to a tenth of a unit, your precision cannot be better than that of the tool. Understanding how significant figures work maintains the integrity of your data.

Fractions

Many calculations in chemistry require the ability to manipulate fractions. You need to understand how to clear fractions, reduce fractions and find a common denominator.

Decimals

Being able to work with decimals is very important because most measurements in chemistry are not exact. Many of your measurements will be parts of things (fractions) and it is better to use decimals rather than fractions in describing your data. You need to know place values and how to convert fractions to decimals.

Percents

It is important that you understand percents in chemistry because many times your data will be converted to a percent for comparisons. Percents are not very difficult to understand. Percents are just another way to write fractions and decimals. Example: 1/2 =.50 = 50%

Pre-algebra

Most chemistry problems only require simple pre-algebra skills. If you can solve simple equations and create a basic coordinate graph, then your algebra skills will be sufficient. There is no need for calculus or even pre-calculus.

Calculator

In order to make chemistry even simpler, you should invest in a TI-84 graphing calculator. The time and headaches that will be solved by learning to use a calculator will be well worth the investment. A TI-84 not only can do the usual arithmetic, but it can help sort and graph your data.
